Galaxy S23 FE listing appears on Wireless Power Consortium site
Another day, another all-but-confirmation leak about the budget Samsung phone
Back in 2008, the Wireless Power Consortium was formed to promote the universal and widespread usage of a wireless charging standard among all types of phones. That led to the creation of the Qi standard, which is a form of power transfer that most of the best wireless chargers are using today. It seems like someone made a slight mistake on the Wireless Power Consortium website, however, as a listing for the all-but-confirmed Galaxy S23 FE has appeared.
OnePlus teases its new ‘Open’ foldable by taking a jab at the Galaxy Z Fold 5
The foldables battle is heating up
It is pretty common for companies to take a sly dig at their competitors' products, especially when they believe their upcoming product is superior. Samsung is usually at the forefront of this. In 2022, the Korean giant started dunking on the iPhone 14 a week before its official announcement. And the company then followed it up by asking iPhone users to join the Flip side. This time around, it is OnePlus which is teasing the launch of its upcoming OnePlus foldable by taking a sly dig at the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.

The app works on the cover screen, but without any UI

After months of rumors and leaks, Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 at Unpacked. Existing users of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 are likely aware that its cover screen doesn't support the Google Wallet app; you have to open the phone to access your virtual wallet. It's now coming to light that the newly refreshed Galaxy Z Flip 5 supports this feature, but not in the way you'd expect, thanks to a revelation by 9to5Google senior editor Ben Schoon.

Plus prototype Galaxy Z Flip 5 colors that didn't make the cut
Samsung officially revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Z Flip 5 on Wednesday, accompanied by the Galaxy Watch 6 series and the Galaxy Tab S9 trio of tablets. The larger Samsung foldable has seen some minor upgrades under the hood, though the breadth of the changes is minimal compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 last year. We're now coming across an interesting revelation, detailing that Samsung was tinkering with a couple of different display aspect ratios for the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Samsung just all but confirmed the Galaxy S23 FE, coming soon
The budget flagship Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is imminent
The hotly anticipated Samsung Unpacked event has come and gone, and for the most part, there weren't any true surprises. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 are the most iterative updates to the company's foldable lineup in a long time, and we already knew that new tablets and watches were coming thanks to extensive leaks. However, there is one more device many people are waiting for this year, and that's the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, which would be the company's latest budget flagship phone. It might be closer than you should think at this point.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 are here to face a vastly different mobile world
With more competition than ever, Samsung's most iterative Fold meets a slightly improved Flip
Samsung is without a doubt the brand to popularize folding phones. It pioneered the market with its ill-fated Galaxy Fold that was plagued by durability issues, only to rise from the ashes as a vastly improved second version, complete with the first Z Flip coming a little later.
Samsung reportedly wants to switch back to Exynos in some regions
The Galaxy S23 FE and the S24 series might come with Exynos chips again

Samsung’s MultiStar Good Lock module update adds a Flip 5 cover widget
Samsung has already started updating its apps for its upcoming foldables
Based on all the leaks, the highlight of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 should be the bigger cover display. While the Flip 4 has a 1.9" outer screen, the 2023 Flip foldable is rumored to pack a massive 3.26" display. Rumors suggest you can't run full-blown apps on the cover screen, but Samsung and Google will reportedly optimize their to use the additional screen space better. Some renders have also shown the new stock cover widgets. Now, ahead of the phone's launch on July 26th, Samsung has updated the MultiStar Good Lock module with a cover widget for the Flip 5.
Don't hold your breath for a selfie camera upgrade with the Galaxy S24
Only 7 months left to learn more
The tech world's collective attention is currently focused on next week's Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, which will play host to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy Tab S9 series, and two Galaxy Watch 6 wearables. It may seem too early to start talking about Samsung's 2024 flagships already, but it's no secret that manufacturers start working on devices several months in advance. With that in mind, a new rumor now claims that Samsung may not be mulling any major upgrades in the selfie camera department with the three Galaxy S24 flagships early next year.

The Moto Razr+ doesn't break the way you expect in durability test
It’s not the folding screen that gives up first
Foldable phones are not as durable as the best Android smartphones. The combination of moving parts and the fragile folding screen means they require a lot more care than regular phones. As seen in the Pixel Fold's stress test by YouTuber JerryRigEverything, companies have come up with interesting design changes to improve the durability of their foldable. Despite that, Google's first foldable failed the test spectacularly. Now, the YouTuber has put the Moto Razr+ through his torture test, and while you can already guess the outcome, there are some interesting changes.

Sales began recently, but if you have a knack for writing, some serious video editing skills, or just an inspiring Pixel story to tell, you’re in luck. Google just announced a giveaway for Pixel Superfans interested in winning a Pixel Fold or Tablet.

Some Google Pixel owners are facing random app crashes
Another day, another bug affecting Pixel users
Google's Pixel lineup ranks high among our favorite Android devices on the market. And while we love the Pixel phones for their clean Android experience, the reality is they are relatively buggy compared to the best Samsung phones. Over the last year alone, there have been multiple reports of Pixel 6 and 7 users facing random battery drain and overheating problems that Google eventually addresses. Now, another such issue seems to be happening right now, with many Pixel owners complaining of random app crashes.
Take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5's more useful cover screen in new renders
You will have access to the full keyboard on the outer display
Samsung's upcoming flip-foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, has leaked extensively in renders and blurry hands-on images over the last few weeks. Rumors even suggest Google will optimize some of its apps for the flip phone's outer display. Now, some marketing renders show the expanded functionality made possible by the Flip 5's larger cover screen.
Nothing Phone 2's launch day update introduces several new camera features
A new 2x zoom for Portrait mode, a new Nothing watermark, and more
The Nothing Phone 2 was unveiled in mid-July, ending months of leaks, rumors, and hype. The first stable Paranoid Android Topaz build for the OnePlus 9 series is here
Plus, new builds for several Xiaomi and Poco phones
The Paranoid Android team began working on the Android 13 version of their ROM shortly after the release of the OS in August 2022. Within a few months, they dropped the first beta build for several phones, including the OnePlus 9 series. This gave users a decent OxygenOS 13 alternative to try on their phones. But since the ROM was in beta, it was filled with bugs and issues. Now, nine months after the first Paranoid Android beta was released, the ROM has gone stable for OnePlus' 2021 flagship phones.
Onyx already makes a bunch of Android-powered tablets that have Amazon Kindle-esque e-ink displays — a few pricier ones even have color variants of those paper-like screens. While we did like those big-screen devices for their use cases, Onyx wants to replicate the same approach for smaller devices as well. The Boox Palma is a pretty unique handset that looks like an e-reader but is powered by Android, making it a far more versatile device than any e-reader.
Latest OnePlus Open leaks further corroborate launch date rumors
And the OnePlus 12 could launch as soon as this December in China

Another report detailed the phone's alleged specs, indicating it will share some internals with the OnePlus 11. A launch timeframe was also rumored, but today's leak provides more concrete details on when the foldable will launch.
This 4-year-old phone just received 2 more years of software support
As the Fairphone 3 gets Android 13 this week, the company announced it will get updates until mid-2026
Netherlands-based Fairphone is known for its repair-friendly smartphone lineup, with the company also launching a pair of headphones in May, relying on the same repairability promise. In a world where smartphones reach their end-of-life status quickly, Fairphone's devices, like the Fairphone 3, have been the pleasant exception. The manufacturer had promised five years of software support from when this smartphone was launched in mid-2019. While this meant that software updates would stop in the middle of 2024, the company has now surprised device owners by saying it plans to provide an additional two years of software coverage.
